Green IT Award Ceremony
A Green IT award ceremony was held on the 6 December 2012 at 10:00 hrs, at La Cannelle, Domaine Les Pailles to reward the best students who participated in this Essay Competition as well as to participants who successfully completed the Foundation Certificate in Green IT from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
The best students of the Green IT Essay Competition was as follows:
Third prize : Miss Salina Lotawon from the Mauritius college Girls Department and Mr Swadesh Dhurmea from Mootoocoomaren Sangalee SSS.
Second prize : Miss Ruqaiyah Mungloo, a student of Quatre Bornes SSS
First prize : Mr Sheick Manawar Faizh Jahally of John Keneddy College
The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Honourable Tassarajen PILLAY CHEDUMBRUM was the Chief Guest of the ceremony.

Green IT Training
The National Computer Board organised training on Green IT from 24th July 2012 to 26th July 2012. The purpose of the training was to provide Professionals with the knowledge and skills to increase energy efficiency and reduce costs in their organisation. Participants were awarded the BCS Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) Foundation certificate on Green IT upon successful completion of an online exam carried out on the last day of the course.
