  (B) Training for Professionals in Governmental Institutions, leading to Industry Certification from BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, supported by the European Union

 
  Three certification training will be delivered by Mr. John Booth, senior Consultant from COWI, BELGIUM as follows:-

  1. Foundation Certificate in Green IT, which will provide the participants with the knowledge and skills to increase energy efficiency and reduce costs in the organisation. In 2011, 39 Professionals have been trained in this course and we intend to train a further 60 Professionals.

  2. Intermediate Certificate EU Code of Conduct in Data Centres, where this course explicitly deals with an organisation’s ‘Green’ strategy as it relates to the effective use of energy by software, ICT systems and support infrastructure (mechanical and electrical systems) within the data centre.

  3. Intermediate Certificate in Energy and Cost Management in Data Centres, where this course will impart an understanding of the use and cost of energy in data centres with an appreciation of the contributing factors, awareness of best practices at a high-level and strategies to control and manage energy efficiency in data centres.
